Leading telecom operator Vodafone Idea (Vi) has launched an advanced AI and ML-powered solution to combat spam SMS, enhancing user security and providing a seamless messaging experience. The system identifies and tags unsolicited messages as “Suspected Spam,” enabling users to make informed decisions. In its testing phase, over 24 million spam messages were flagged, underscoring its effectiveness.
Jagbir Singh, CTO, Vodafone Idea, said, “Our AI-powered spam detection technology reinforces our commitment to customer safety by delivering proactive, real-time protection. Vi is focused on staying ahead of threats and empowering customers with safer communication.” The solution employs real-time analysis, pattern recognition, and adaptive learning to identify phishing links, unauthorized promotions, and scams while continuously evolving to tackle emerging spam trends.
In Guwahati, where digital communication is central to business operations, this solution promises a safer environment for transactions and marketing. By reducing phishing and scam risks, it enhances consumer confidence and supports secure digital engagement, particularly crucial for businesses relying on SMS-based outreach.
