Vi strengthens market presence with ‘Number Rakshak’ initiative at MahaKumbh

In a strategic move to enhance connectivity and consumer engagement, leading telecom operator Vi has launched the ‘Vi Number Rakshak’ initiative at the MahaKumbh. The program provides Rudraksh and Tulsi bracelets engraved with emergency contact numbers, addressing the long-standing issue of pilgrims getting separated in massive crowds.

The MahaKumbh attracts millions of devotees, and reports indicate that over 250 individuals were lost within the first few hours this year. Vi’s booth near Swami Ramanand Acharya Shibir Akhada is offering complimentary bracelets, particularly benefiting elderly pilgrims and children who may not have mobile phones.

Beyond safety measures, Vi is expanding its network footprint at the MahaKumbh, adding 30 new sites, 40 macro and small-cell sites, and deploying 32 km of fiber for enhanced connectivity. AvneeshKhosla, CMO of Vi, stated, “With initiatives like Number Rakshak, we reinforce our commitment to seamless connectivity while prioritizing public safety.”
