76th Republic Day: Minister Jayant Chaudhary honors 100 entrepreneurs, showcases global demand for skilled workforce

On the occasion of the 76th Republic Day, Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, honored 100 distinguished entrepreneurs at Kaushal Bhawan. These individuals, representing India’s thriving skill ecosystem, were also invited as special guests to the Republic Day parade, symbolizing their role in driving innovation and growth under the Skill India Mission.

Returning from the World Economic Forum 2025 in Davos, Chaudhary highlighted India’s growing reputation as a global hub for skilled talent. “India’s workforce is gaining global recognition, showcasing our potential to emerge as a global skill capital,” he said. Discussions at Davos centered on sustainability, artificial intelligence, and women-led development.

The Minister praised entrepreneurs from across India, including 16 from the Northeast, for their resilience and innovation. Among them were Assam’s Namita M. Marak from Dhubri and Mandira Baglary from Udalguri, who have transformed rural lives through skill development. Guwahati exemplifies this growth, with local entrepreneurs increasingly leveraging government initiatives like the Skill India Mission to expand sustainable ventures, contributing to Assam’s vibrant economy.The event, attended by top MSDE officials, celebrated India’s constitutional values and entrepreneurial spirit.
