To review developmental works, Committee on Subordinate Legislation conducts spot study tour in Haflong

In order to evaluate the execution, advancement, and practical effects of various developmental projects in the district, a delegation of the Committee on Subordinate Legislation, led by Chairman Ponakan Baruah, MLA (Chabua), performed a comprehensive spot study visit in Haflong and surrounding districts. Committee members Shri Mrinal Saikia, MLA (Khumtai), Suzam Uddin Laskar, MLA (Katlicherra), Samir Das, Joint Secretary, and Rinelin S. Momin, Under Secretary, accompanied the Chairman.

Partha Jahari, ACS, Principal Secretary (in-charge), Rebecca Changsan, ACS, Joint Secretary, ADC Abul Khair Ilias, Noshim Ahmed, ACS, and other district officials were among the senior representatives from the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) who participated in the inspection. The committee team conducted thorough inspections of ongoing projects, infrastructure conditions, and maintenance work at a number of strategic places across Haflong, including Ladies Park Approach Road, Lower Haflong, Kelolo, Natun Leikul, Boro Wapu, and Hasong Haju.

In order to comprehend local problems and get input on project results, the members also engaged with stakeholders and locals. Heads of agencies (HODs), officials, and employees from several government agencies attended a departmental review meeting later in the day at the Circuit House Conference Hall in Haflong. Officials examined the state of policy execution and adherence to developmental objectives, provided progress reports, and talked about administrative difficulties during the meeting.

The committee’s dedication to guaranteeing accountability, openness, and efficient implementation of government projects in hill districts like Dima Hasao was underlined by Chairman Ponakan Baruah. Additionally, he urged departments to emphasize the prompt completion of public welfare projects for the benefit of the people and praised the collaboration of local authorities. The committee promised to present a comprehensive report with recommendations to improve the region’s administrative efficiency and increase the execution of development programs at the end of the visit.
