Mahindra has unveiled the XEV 9S, a brand-new three-row electric SUV built from the ground up on its INGLO platform. Designed as a spacious EV for families and long-distance travel, the XEV 9S introduces several significant updates to Mahindra’s electric lineup.
The SUV is based on a dedicated electric architecture rather than an adapted ICE platform, allowing more efficient packaging and one of the segment’s largest cabins. It offers 4,076 litres of space across the first two rows, a 150-litre frunk, up to 527 litres of boot space, and a 50:50 split third row. The second row can slide and recline to adjust for passengers or luggage.
Safety is enhanced with a high-stiffness body shell, seven airbags, all-wheel disc brakes with brake-by-wire, and an L2+ driver-assistance suite using radars and a vision camera for adaptive cruise, lane-keeping, and collision mitigation. Additional security comes from a driver monitoring system and Mahindra’s Secure360 Pro.
Inside, the XEV 9S features three 12.3-inch displays, 5G connectivity, over 140 connected functions, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon Dolby Atmos system. Convenience features include a panoramic sunroof, CapTouch controls, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, cooled console storage, fast-charging Type-C ports, and pre-installed OTT apps.
With its blend of space, luxury, and technology, the XEV 9S targets premium EV buyers and strengthens Mahindra’s position in the segment.
