Nagaland marked its Statehood Day on December 1 with heartfelt messages from national and regional leaders, celebrating the state’s cultural richness, natural beauty, and steady progress. President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the tributes, acknowledging Nagaland’s contributions to the nation and its efforts toward sustainable development.
Nagaland, which attained statehood in 1963, continues to be recognised for its vibrant ethnic diversity, traditional heritage, and scenic landscapes. On this occasion, President Murmu took to social media to convey her greetings, saying, “Warm greetings to the people of Nagaland on Statehood Day! Blessed with a rich culture and boundless natural beauty, Nagaland continues to make commendable strides in sustainable development.” Her message underscored the state’s commitment to balanced growth while preserving its traditions.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his wishes, highlighting the significant role of the Naga community in shaping the nation’s cultural and social fabric. He praised the resilience, talent, and contributions of the people of Nagaland across various fields, reinforcing the Centre’s appreciation for the state’s achievements.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma joined the national leadership in greeting the people of Nagaland. “Warm greetings to my brothers & sisters in Nagaland on the state’s Foundation Day!” he said, acknowledging the state’s proud traditions, diverse cultures, and continuous journey of progress. He expressed hope for sustained harmony and economic advancement in the years to come.
