During the visit, students were introduced to the court’s structure, functioning, and long-standing judicial traditions. The initiative was led by the City Law College Students’ Union under the guidance of Abigail Yepthomi, Assistant Professor of Law at the college. During their time at the court, the group was assisted by Kaustav Pal, Upper Division Assistant (Appellate Side), who helped facilitate their visit. Students were given the opportunity to observe live court proceedings, including both civil and criminal cases.

Faculty members said that observing real courtroom proceedings allowed students to better understand legal arguments, judicial procedures, and the overall functioning of the justice delivery system. The experience helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. The college described the visit as an enriching learning experience for the students. It also expressed gratitude to the authorities of the Calcutta High Court for allowing the group to attend the proceedings and for extending their support during the visit.
