BJP misusing police to intimidate Cong: Ashok Gahlot on search at Pawan Khera’s house

Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot oday alleged that the BJP is “panic-stricken” due to fear of defeat in the Assam elections and is misusing government agencies to intimidate the opposition.
Gehlot made the remarks after a team of Assam Police reached the Delhi residence of Congress national spokesperson Pawan Khera for questioning in connection with a case linked to allegations made against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his family.
In a statement, Gahlot said, “Fearing defeat in the Assam elections, the BJP has become rattled. Its biggest weakness is that it attacks from behind the cover of police and government agencies instead of following democratic principles.”
A team of Assam Police today conducted searches at Congress leader Pawan Khera’s residence at Nizamuddin in New Delhi and seized some “incriminating” documents.
Khera was not present in the house at that time. CM Sarma claimed that Khera has fled to Hyderabad.
