LPG supply crunch opens new market avenues as Godrej Jersey pushes smart cooking alternatives

Amid an ongoing LPG cylinder shortage affecting several parts of India, delays in supply, refill constraints and extended waiting periods are disrupting household cooking routines, creating a ripple effect across consumer markets. Responding to the situation, Godrej Jersey, a subsidiary of Godrej Agrovet Limited, has rolled out a consumer-focused initiative aimed at promoting alternative cooking solutions.

Through a recent content campaign, the company is encouraging households to adopt appliances such as microwaves, air fryers and electric kettles to prepare everyday meals without LPG dependency. Highlighting options ranging from quick pulao bowls and paneer-based dishes to sandwiches and chaat-style snacks, the brand is positioning adaptability as both a necessity and an opportunity. The initiative also underscores reduced reliance on food delivery and increased family engagement in meal preparation. Commenting on the development, Shantanu Raj, Head of Marketing at Godrej Jersey, said the move is aimed at enabling consumers with confidence and ideas during uncertain times, while reinforcing the evolving versatility of Indian kitchens.

In Guwahati, the LPG shortage is beginning to reshape consumption trends, with rising demand for electrical cooking appliances and alternative meal solutions. Retailers are witnessing increased consumer interest in convenient, non-LPG cooking methods, indicating a shift that could influence future kitchen and appliance markets in the region.
