HPCL Delivers Record Fuel and LPG Supply, Digital Bookings Cross 99%

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has reported a sharp surge in fuel demand across India, delivering 9.57 lakh kilolitres (KL) of fuel and 132.4 lakh LPG cylinders within nine days, underscoring its operational strength and nationwide reach. Between April 1 and 9, HPCL recorded sales of 3,40,573 KL of petrol and 6,17,185 KL of diesel, supported by the deployment of 62,534 tankers to ensure uninterrupted supply across its retail network. The company also expanded LPG access by supplying over 2.63 lakh 5-kg and 19,236 2-kg cylinders, targeting migrant and underserved populations.

A major highlight has been HPCL’s digital push, with 99.3% of LPG bookings now routed through platforms such as IVRS, SMS, WhatsApp and HP PAY, enhancing transparency and delivery efficiency through OTP-based authentication systems. The company also intensified vigilance measures, conducting 4,681 inspections between March 14 and April 9. Action was taken against 95 distributors, including suspension of 28 agencies, while 658 raids led to 41 FIRs and seizure of 3,172 LPG cylinders.

In Guwahati and other parts of Assam, the surge in fuel demand has mirrored national trends, driven by increased mobility and seasonal consumption patterns. Local distributors reported steady supplies with no major disruptions, although brief pressure was observed due to precautionary buying. Market observers note that HPCL’s strong logistics and digital systems have helped stabilise supply chains in the region, preventing panic and ensuring consistent availability.
