Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), a wholly owned arm of Daimler Truck AG, on Monday expanded its Northeast footprint with the inauguration of a new BharatBenz service centre in Silchar, Assam, in partnership with PPS Trucking.
Strategically located at Ram Nagar near ISBT on NH-37, the 30,000 sq. ft. workshop features eight fully equipped service bays and an annual servicing capacity of up to 3,000 vehicles. The facility is fitted with advanced diagnostic systems, modern tools, and genuine BharatBenz spare parts to ensure faster turnaround and improved maintenance efficiency. It will also provide 24×7 roadside assistance through mobile service vans, aimed at enhancing vehicle uptime across the region.
PPS Trucking Managing Director Rajiv Sanghvi said the Silchar unit strengthens the company’s presence in a critical logistics corridor linking Assam with Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, while improving service accessibility and customer profitability.
The centre is expected to cater to rising commercial vehicle demand driven by infrastructure growth in Barak Valley, projects under the Asom Mala 3.0 programme, and industrial activity tied to limestone reserves in Dima Hasao.
Operated by 35 trained technicians, the workshop will deliver comprehensive after-sales solutions, reinforcing BharatBenz’s strategy of expanding service networks, improving spare parts availability, and boosting fleet productivity in high-growth markets.
