Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has strengthened its nationwide fuel distribution network through a technology-driven real-time monitoring system, enabling the company to deliver 392 lakh LPG cylinders across India between April 1 and May 1, 2026. The company said its centralised control room continuously tracks demand patterns, inventory levels and booking trends, allowing instant operational decisions and faster response to market fluctuations. On May 1 alone, HPCL delivered 8.6 lakh LPG cylinders, reflecting strong demand management capabilities.
During the period, HPCL supplied 12,94,451 KL of Motor Spirit (MS) and 22,19,479 KL of High-Speed Diesel (HSD). On May 1, supplies stood at 45,942 KL of MS and 68,063 KL of HSD. To maintain uninterrupted fuel movement, the company dispatched 2,29,863 tankers nationwide, including 3,590 tankers on a single day. HPCL said 99.5 per cent of LPG bookings are now made through digital platforms, enabling automated distributor allocation, route optimisation and real-time delivery tracking. The company also reported rising demand for smaller cylinders, selling 7,96,680 units of 5 kg cylinders and 27,155 units of 2 kg cylinders during the period. To strengthen accountability, HPCL conducted 6,359 inspections, initiated action against 177 distributors, carried out 664 raids, registered 44 FIRs and seized 4,155 cylinders between March 14 and May 1.
