TVS Motor Company reported a 7 per cent rise in overall sales for April 2026, driven by strong retail demand across domestic and international markets, even as supply chain disruptions affected production and dispatch volumes. The company said it sold 4,73,970 units in April 2026 compared to 4,43,716 units in the same month last year. However, dispatch volumes were impacted due to lower production caused by workforce shortages, raw material constraints, shortages of consumables among tier-1 and tier-2 suppliers, and limited container availability for exports.
The Bengaluru-based automaker said corrective measures have been put in place and production is expected to recover in May 2026. Total two-wheeler sales grew 6 per cent to 4,55,333 units from 4,30,150 units a year ago. Domestic two-wheeler sales rose 8 per cent to 3,48,545 units. Scooter sales recorded strong growth of 24 per cent, increasing to 2,11,158 units from 1,69,741 units in April 2025. Motorcycle sales, however, declined to 2,00,039 units from 2,20,347 units last year.
Electric vehicle sales surged 36 per cent to 37,771 units, while three-wheeler sales jumped 37 per cent to 18,637 units. International business sales also rose 3 per cent to 1,20,008 units during the month.
