Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav said that Niuland district has immense promise and potential and can emerge as one of the important districts of the state with collective effort and proper development planning. The Governor made the remarks during an interaction programme with civil society organisations (CSOs), tribal bodies, Gaon Buras (GBs), and government officials at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Niuland district. During the meeting, Yadav said his visit was aimed at understanding the aspirations, concerns, and priorities of people at the grassroots level. The Governor appreciated the unity and cooperation among different tribal organisations and community groups in the district. He said such cooperation was necessary for the growth and progress of a developing district like Niuland. According to him, the people of the district have shown a strong sense of identity, responsibility, and commitment towards development.
Yadav urged civil society groups, village leaders, and district officials to work together in close coordination so that government welfare schemes and development programmes could benefit every household. He said proper cooperation between the administration and the public would help in improving delivery of services and strengthening development activities in the district. He also stressed the importance of maintaining peace and harmony in society. The Governor said community unity and peaceful coexistence were important for long-term development. He called upon the people to uphold values such as honesty, responsibility, and social harmony while moving forward on the path of progress. Speaking on the cultural identity of the district, Yadav said development should not come at the cost of tradition and heritage. He said Niuland should move ahead with a balanced vision where modern development and preservation of cultural values go together. He added that tribal bodies and Gaon Buras have a major responsibility in guiding the younger generation and protecting the traditions and customs of the community.
The Governor further assured the people of his continued support and expressed confidence that Niuland could emerge as a model district in Nagaland through collective effort and public participation. During the programme, Yadav also interacted with beneficiaries of various government schemes and listened to their experiences and concerns regarding implementation of welfare programmes.
