Assam Rifles celebrated Mother’s Day across Tengnoupal, Pallel, Moreh and Kamjong districts of Manipur, bringing together 220 local women and 90 students from Naga, Meitei and Kuki communities. The events featured discussions on women empowerment, healthcare and social harmony, along with recreational activities, community lunch and movie screenings to strengthen mutual trust and unity. In Kamjong, Assam Rifles also celebrated with Olina Ningshen of Kangpat Khunou village, who was recently rescued after being abducted by KNA (B) and VVEZ militants. Following her safe rescue and rehabilitation, Assam Rifles personnel visited her home on Mother’s Day to present gifts and essentials, reinforcing the bond of care, security and compassion with local communities.
On the other hand, Mother’s Day was celebrated by the paramilitary force at Assam Rifles Public School, Phek and Assam Rifles High School, Tuensang, Nagaland on Sunday with participation from students, teachers and parents. The events featured speeches, cultural performances, skits, greeting card making and presentations honouring mothers and their invaluable role in society. Fun activities like balloon writing game and tug of war added excitement and strengthened community bonding. The celebrations concluded with a cheerful gathering, while students also participated in cleaning the school premises, reflecting teamwork and responsibility.The initiative apparently bears testimony to Assam Rifles’ commitment towards value-based education and community engagement.
