The 17th Madhurjya Gogoi Memorial Ranking Table Tennis Tournament, organized across four days by the Golaghat District Sports Association at the Kriba Sambhar Indoor Stadium, concluded successfully last night. In the tournament, Divyaj Rajkhowa Roy and Tanmayee Chaha from Guwahati, along with Biswajeet Pal and Divija Paul from Silchar, achieved double crowns. In the Men’s Singles final, Divyaj emerged victorious by defeating Samarth Modi of Dibrugarh, and in the Under-19 category, he defeated Swapneel Dutta of Dibrugarh to win the title.
In the Under-17 Girls’ category, Guwahati’s Tanmayee Chaha defeated Divija Paul, and in the Under-19 category, she defeated Guwahati’s Ishani Gogoi to clinch the title.
Meanwhile, in the Boys’ Under-15 category, Biprajit defeated Aadrik Gogoi of Dibrugarh, and in the Under-13 category, he defeated Ryan Borahakur of Sivasagar to secure the title. Similarly, in the Girls’ Under-13 and Under-15 categories, Divija Paul defeated Guwahati’s Ishani Gogoi to claim the titles.
Other Results of the Tournament:
- Girls’ Under-11: Shreyashree Baruah (Dibrugarh) defeated Sujani Pathak (Lakhimpur).
- Boys’ Under-11: Suryangshu Phukan (Lakhimpur) defeated Pratik Bhattacharya (Guwahati).
- Boys’ Under-17: Abhik Kashyap (Guwahati) defeated Arnis Baruah (Jorhat).
- Women’s Category: Trisha Gogoi (Oil) defeated Bhumika Kaushik (Guwahati) to emerge victorious. The Best Performer awards of the tournament went to Kaushik Gogoi of Golaghat in the Boys’ category and Aakriti Gogoi of Sivasagar in the Girls’ category.
