Renault India on Friday announced that its new Duster Turbo TCe 100 has achieved an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 19.41 km per litre, highlighting the company’s focus on combining performance with fuel economy in the competitive SUV segment. The automaker said the Duster Turbo TCe 100 is powered by a turbocharged petrol engine that delivers 100 PS of power and 160 Nm of torque. Paired with a six-speed manual transmission, the powertrain has been designed to offer responsive performance, smooth drivability and improved fuel efficiency across varied driving conditions.
Dr. V. Vikraman, Chief of Renault Engineering, Renault Group India, said the certification reflects Renault’s emphasis on practical engineering and customer value. He noted that the Turbo TCe 100 engine uses turbocharging and efficient combustion technologies to deliver strong fuel economy while maintaining responsive performance. Renault said the new Duster TCe 100 is built on the all-new RGMP platform, with the engine and powertrain specifically engineered and calibrated to suit the platform’s dynamics. The company described the powertrain as exclusive to the Duster and designed to provide a balanced driving experience.
In Guwahati, the fuel-efficiency figure could strengthen the Duster’s appeal among SUV buyers in Assam and the wider Northeast, where rising fuel costs remain a key consideration for consumers. Industry observers believe the combination of turbocharged performance and improved mileage may help Renault attract both urban and long-distance drivers in the region. Renault India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Renault Group, manufactures its vehicles at its Chennai facility with an annual production capacity of 480,000 units. The company has a nationwide network of nearly 638 sales and service touchpoints, including more than 200 Workshop on Wheels locations.
