Godrej Enterprises scales warehousing capabilities as Chennai facility completes 25 years

Godrej Enterprises Group (GEG) has marked 25 years of its Chennai manufacturing facility and announced fresh investments across its Chennai and Bengaluru plants to strengthen automation, innovation and next-generation warehousing infrastructure amid growing demand from India’s logistics sector.

Backed by over 70 years of expertise in intralogistics, the company said the Chennai facility has evolved into one of the region’s largest and most advanced manufacturing hubs for storage and warehousing solutions. The facility produces high-precision systems that support automated and high-density warehouses, helping businesses improve efficiency and optimise space utilization.

The company said India’s warehousing sector is witnessing rapid growth, driven by e-commerce, quick commerce, manufacturing and third-party logistics. To meet rising demand, Godrej is expanding automation-led manufacturing, precision engineering and integrated digital design-to-delivery systems while enhancing capacities at Chennai and Bengaluru.

“As supply chains become faster and more complex, the need for intelligent, technology-led and future-ready infrastructure is intensifying,” said VikasChoudaha, Business Head, Storage Solutions, Godrej Enterprises Group. He noted that annual warehousing absorption has crossed nearly 39 million sq. ft. and that one in every three warehouses in India is powered by Godrej racking solutions. The business has also recorded a CAGR of 17 per cent over the past five years.

In Guwahati, increasing investments in warehousing and logistics infrastructure across Northeast India are creating opportunities for advanced storage solutions. As Guwahati strengthens its role as a regional logistics hub connecting the Northeast with the rest of India and neighbouring international markets, demand for automated warehousing systems is expected to rise, benefiting businesses focused on supply chain efficiency.

Godrej Enterprises Group exports its intralogistics solutions to more than 40 countries across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, ASEAN and Australia. The company said it will continue focusing on automation, digital transformation and sustainability, including energy and water optimisation measures, as India advances towards becoming a globally competitive manufacturing and logistics hub.
