Vi and Spotify partner to strengthen premium digital entertainment offerings

Telecom operator Vi has entered into a strategic partnership with global audio streaming platform Spotify to offer complimentary Spotify Premium access to eligible postpaid subscribers, a move aimed at strengthening its digital entertainment ecosystem and enhancing customer value in India’s competitive telecom market. Under the partnership, Vi customers on eligible individual postpaid plans priced at Rs. 451, Rs. 551, Rs. 751 and Rs. 1,201 (REDX), along with select family postpaid plans, will receive three months of Spotify Premium at no additional cost. The benefit includes ad-free access to more than 100 million songs, offline downloads, over seven million podcast titles, unlimited skips, full playback control across devices and high-quality audio streaming of up to 320 kbps. Eligible users who have not previously subscribed to Spotify can activate the offer through the Vi App. After the complimentary period, subscribers can continue the service through Vi’s “Add to Bill” option at Rs. 139 per month.

Vi Chief Marketing Officer AvneeshKhosla said the collaboration reinforces the company’s commitment to combining reliable connectivity with premium entertainment experiences. Spotify India Managing Director AmarjitBatra described it as the company’s first-of-its-kind telecom partnership in India, adding that it would make Spotify Premium more accessible while creating long-term value for artists, creators and the broader music industry.

The partnership is expected to strengthen Vi’s position in Guwahati and the Northeast, where demand for premium digital content and bundled telecom services is steadily increasing. As smartphone usage and high-speed mobile data consumption continue to rise across the region, value-added offerings such as premium music streaming could help Vi improve customer retention, attract higher-value postpaid subscribers and compete more effectively in the evolving telecom market.
