The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has extended the registration deadline for Navachar Mantra, its flagship national innovation platform, to July 15, 2026, following an overwhelming response from aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators across the country. The decision is aimed at enabling greater participation and providing more innovators with the opportunity to transform promising ideas into successful business ventures.
According to the Ministry, thousands of registrations have already been received through the official Navachar Mantra portal. The extended registration window is expected to attract more participants and bring forward a wider range of innovative ideas from across India.
Implemented by the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) under the aegis of MSDE, the initiative is supported by the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT), IIT Delhi, as its Knowledge Partner. The programme offers structured mentorship, incubation support, industry partnerships, investor connect and institutional handholding to help innovators refine, validate and scale their ideas into sustainable enterprises.
Navachar Mantra seeks to strengthen India’s startup ecosystem by encouraging participation from students, startups, professionals and grassroots innovators, including those from Tier-II, Tier-III and rural areas, in line with the government’s vision of fostering innovation-driven growth and job creation.
In Guwahati, the extended deadline is expected to generate increased interest among startups, educational institutions and young entrepreneurs in Assam and the Northeast. With the region witnessing a growing innovation ecosystem and government-backed entrepreneurship initiatives, Navachar Mantra could provide aspiring innovators from Guwahati and neighbouring states with valuable mentorship, industry exposure and access to funding opportunities, helping local ideas reach national markets.
