Swedish beauty and wellbeing company Oriflame has unveiled a new whitepaper, *Beyond Anti-ageing: How Longevity Science Is Changing Beauty*, outlining how advances in longevity science are reshaping the global skincare industry and creating new opportunities for science-led beauty innovation. The paper comes as the United Nations projects that the global population aged 80 years and above will triple by 2050, with many children born today expected to live well into their 90s, driving greater focus on extending healthspan alongside lifespan.
The whitepaper says the beauty industry is moving away from addressing only visible signs of ageing towards supporting long-term skin health, resilience and vitality through a pro-longevity approach. It highlights that skin ageing is influenced by interconnected biological processes, nutrition, sleep, stress and environmental factors, while advances in longevity science are enabling proactive skincare innovation. Built around the scientific framework of the Hallmarks of Ageing, the report also showcases Oripeptide-3, Oriflame’s patented peptide technology, backed by nearly 60 years of global beauty expertise and more than 15 years of research into multi-pathway skin biology.
Edyta Kurek, Senior Vice President and GM, Oriflame India, said Indian consumers are increasingly seeking science-backed solutions for healthy ageing, while Lene Visdal-Johnsen, Director Scientific Research, Claims & Innovation, said a deeper understanding of skin biology is helping develop products that support long-term skin function and resilience. The company said the whitepaper is the first in a new series on longevity and wellbeing, with the next edition scheduled for later this year.
In Guwahati, the findings could support rising demand for premium skincare and wellness products across the Northeast. With consumers in Guwahati becoming more conscious of preventive healthcare, holistic wellbeing and clinically backed beauty solutions, industry observers believe the region offers significant growth potential for brands introducing longevity-focused skincare innovations and science-driven product portfolios.
