Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is set to establish what is described as India’s largest Nvidia B300 AI factory at Vyoma’s data centre campus in Chennai for AI company Together AI. The facility will house 10,000 Nvidia B300 GPUs and is designed to support Together AI’s AI-native cloud platform for large-scale artificial intelligence training, fine-tuning and inference workloads. The Chennai campus will be a gigawatt-scale AI infrastructure site. The first phase includes 250 MW capacity and 150 MVA readiness for power. It allows future expansion. The AI factory will combine hyperscale data centre infrastructure with accelerated computing, high-performance networking, ultra-low-latency interconnects, high-throughput parallel storage and specialised AI infrastructure operations. L&T Chairman and Managing Director S N Subrahmanyan said AI is becoming foundational across industries and described the deployment as a significant milestone in the company’s gigawatt-scale AI infrastructure mission. The development comes shortly after L&T agreed to transfer its data centre and cloud services business to Vyoma.AI Ltd for Rs 1,400 crore. The Chennai project highlights India’s growing ambitions in advanced AI infrastructure and could strengthen the country’s capacity to support increasingly demanding AI workloads at scale.
