Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has contributed ₹50 lakh to the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, as the state continues relief and rehabilitation efforts in flood-affected districts. A delegation from IOB’s Guwahati Regional Office, comprising Chief Regional Manager Rajiv Kumar, Assistant General Manager Anurag Singh Kshatriya and Chief Manager Pushkar Singh, presented the contribution to Assam Chief Minister DrHimantaBiswaSarma.
IOB Managing Director and CEO Ajay Kumar Srivastava said the bank’s contribution was intended to strengthen the state government’s ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts. He added that the bank stood in solidarity with affected communities and remained ready to assist customers in the impacted districts. From a business perspective, the contribution comes as IOB reported a strong first-quarter performance for the financial year 2026-27. For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, the public sector bank reported an operating profit of ₹2,693 crore and net profit of ₹1,659 crore.
Founded on February 10, 1937, by ShriM.Ct.M. Chidambaram Chettyar, IOB was among 14 major banks nationalised in 1969. It currently has 3,522 branches and around 3,691 ATMs, besides operations in Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand and Sri Lanka. The bank has more than 46 million active customers.
