Bajaj General Insurance Limited, formerly Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company Limited, has expanded its motor insurance portfolio with ProShield for defence personnel and the enhanced VPAY 2.0, signalling a greater focus on specialised mobility requirements and emerging risks associated with connected and technology-driven vehicles.
ProShield has been structured around the mobility challenges of defence personnel, including frequent relocations, operational commitments and vehicle movement between postings. The product provides vehicle relocation protection, policy extensions for vehicles transported through licensed carriers and No Claim Bonus protection for eligible accidents during carrier transit where the insured is not at fault. It also provides travel emergency protection covering missed flights and hotel accommodation following vehicle accidents while travelling to airports, as well as financial assistance for replacing lost driving licences and registration certificates of the insured and spouse.
The offering includes priority assistance, personalised claims support and access to a nationwide network of more than 7,300 garages. Its in-built benefits include zero depreciation with unlimited claims, waiver of deductible, roadside assistance, tyre and rim cover, rodent damage, towing, geographical extension, rally and accessories cover. VPAY 2.0, offered in Prime, Classic and Elite variants, consolidates multiple protections, including cyber incidents involving connected vehicles, theft of funds arising from covered cyber events, fuel adulteration, mechanical and electrical breakdowns, Smart Repair, smart-system restoration and ADAS recalibration.
The offering also provides protection for electric and hybrid vehicles, including traction battery replacement benefits, along with vehicle replacement, theft of parts, consequential loss, legal defence costs and integrated 360-degree protection. Dr Tapan Singhel, MD & CEO, Bajaj General Insurance, said the launches reflect the company’s approach of adapting motor insurance to changing mobility patterns, technologies and customer requirements.
