Lenskart has launched ‘Drishti Ki Daud—Run for Vision’, an Independence Day weekend virtual run aimed at combining fitness, consumer engagement and social impact by enabling participants to unlock prescription glasses for people in need.
The campaign, scheduled for August 15 and 16, will allow participants to register through the Lenskart app and sync their activity with a health app. Lenskart Foundation, the company’s non-profit arm, will donate one pair of prescription glasses for every 20,000 steps completed, rising to two pairs for 30,000 steps, three pairs for 40,000 steps and four pairs for 50,000 steps. The company said more than 350 million Indians cannot afford vision care.
Participants completing the challenge can download a personalised digital finisher frame for social media, while their names will be permanently credited on the Lenskart Foundation page.
In Guwahati, the initiative could help strengthen Lenskart’s engagement with the city’s digitally connected consumers while bringing greater attention to eye-care accessibility. The fitness-led campaign also offers the brand an avenue to deepen its social-impact positioning among younger consumers in Assam’s urban market.
Lenskart CEO and Founder Peyush Bansal said the initiative seeks to build a more vision-aware India by converting an everyday habit into collective contribution. The campaign builds on Lenskart’s ‘Run for Frame’ movement, which attracted nearly one million participants across India, Thailand and Singapore.
