Godrej Agrovet bets on better feed to strengthen aquaculture livelihoods

For thousands of aquaculture farmers, the quality and efficiency of fish feed can directly influence production costs, yields and, ultimately, farm incomes. Godrej Agrovet Limited is now placing its Aqua Feed business at the centre of its future growth strategy, with plans to become one of India’s leading fish feed players.

The company will invest in expanding manufacturing capacity while accelerating innovation and research and development to develop superior feed solutions. A key focus will be improving feed conversion ratios, helping farmers reduce costs, improve productivity and enhance profitability.

Sunil Kataria, MD and CEO of Godrej Agrovet, said fish feed is a strategic priority for the company’s wider animal nutrition business, with the company targeting double-digit growth through investments, innovation and R&D.

The strategy also extends beyond farmers to the company’s distributor ecosystem. Godrej Agrovet aims to help partners offer higher-value solutions and build sustainable, profitable businesses. It recently introduced an enhanced version of its Drishtikon app to improve collaboration, efficiency and service delivery.

Capt. A.Y. Rajendra, CEO – Animal Nutrition Business, said the company’s growth would be built on sound business fundamentals, focusing on quality, service and value.

Godrej Agrovet said it sees significant headroom for growth in Aqua Feed and remains committed to expanding responsibly and sustainably while creating long-term value for farmers, distributors and the business.
