Renault India has resumed vehicle exports to Sri Lanka, taking its international export footprint to 16 countries, with the first shipment of 100 Made-in-India vehicles dispatched from Chennai.
The consignment comprises the all-new Triber, Kwid and Kiger and marks Renault’s return to the Sri Lankan market in partnership with AMW Motors, one of the country’s leading automotive distributors. The partnership is expected to support the company’s renewed commercial presence and provide a base for further expansion.
Francisco Hidalgo, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Renault India, said the resumption of exports was an important step in the company’s international growth journey. He said Renault aimed to expand the reach of vehicles engineered and manufactured in India while strengthening the country’s role as an export base.
The exported vehicles are manufactured at Renault India’s Oragadam facility in Chennai, which caters to both domestic and international markets. The company also plans to introduce the New Duster in Sri Lanka as it expands its product portfolio.
In Guwahati, Renault’s renewed export push highlights the growing role of Indian manufacturing and regional automotive markets, including Assam, in supporting wider brand and supply-chain activity. Renault has exported nearly 200,000 vehicles from India to overseas markets so far, including South Africa and Saudi Arabia.
