Three candidates today withdrew their nominations on the final day for candidates to withdraw their nomination papers for the upcoming bye-elections the Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency.
After withdrawal of nominations, 15 candidates are left in the final fray.
“Out of 18 validly nominated candidates a total of 3 candidates have withdrawn their candidature today. Consequently15 candidates remain in the fray for the Nagaon Parliamentary Constituency bye election 2026,” a statement issued by the Election Commission said.
The candidates who withdrew their nominations are Abdul Salam (Mamata AITC), Karimulla Shaik (Navarang Congress Party) and Purusottam Behera (Independent).
