BHIM users get AI-powered MyUPI for payments, complaints and safety checks

BHIM users can now manage several UPI-related requirements through a new conversational AI-powered assistant, MyUPI, introduced by NPCI BHIM Services Limited (NBSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).

Launched by NPCI at Global Fintech Fest 2026, MyUPI is available 24/7 within the BHIM Payments App and currently supports English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Bengali. More regional languages are planned.

Available under Quick Actions, the service allows users to view transaction histories across linked bank accounts and UPI apps, raise and track eligible complaints and manage recurring UPI Autopay mandates. Users can pause, resume or cancel applicable mandates and identify the purpose of certain debits made through mandates without a UPI PIN prompt.

For safer payments, the Pay Safe feature lets users enter a UPI ID or upload a QR code to verify the payee name before making a payment. Eligible earlier P2P and P2M transactions can also be re-initiated, including payments originally made through another UPI app, with fresh UPI PIN authentication.

Users can de-link their UPI Number if they do not wish to receive payments through their mobile number. A Safety Switch can block a linked bank account in cases such as suspected compromise, a lost phone, unexpected debit or suspicious messages.

MyUPI also provides conversational information on scam messages and commonly reported UPI fraud methods.

Lalitha Nataraj, MD and CEO of NBSL, said the initiative seeks to make digital payments easier, more inclusive and safer for users.
