Bajaj Group’s flagship CSR initiative, Bajaj Beyond, has honoured local residents of Lakwa, Assam, for their courage and selfless service during the recent floods that affected the region. The initiative recognised citizens who went beyond their usual responsibilities to rescue stranded families, assist people facing rising floodwaters and provide relief support to neighbours during the crisis.
The felicitation programme reflected Bajaj Beyond’s broader focus on recognising grassroots acts of courage and community service across India. The initiative is guided by the Bajaj family’s long-standing commitment to community welfare and aims to acknowledge individuals whose efforts help communities withstand challenging situations.
Representing the Group, a team from Bajaj General Insurance, one of India’s largest general insurance providers, attended the ceremony. Debojit Roy, EVP & Head – Bancassurance (RRBs & Co-operative Banks), and VikramJeetBhayana, Head of Marketing, joined the community event and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to standing with communities during times of need.
In Guwahati, the initiative underlines the growing role of corporate CSR programmes in supporting communities across Assam, particularly during flood-related emergencies. For businesses operating in the Northeast, community engagement and disaster-response initiatives remain relevant to strengthening local relationships and social impact.
The Lakwa event highlighted how grassroots participation can contribute to community resilience during natural disasters.
