IDFC FIRST Bank has integrated its payment gateway with the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) collections system, enabling taxpayers across India to pay Direct Taxes through UPI, credit and debit cards, internet banking and branches.
The integration allows customers to use IDFC FIRST Bank’s Retail and Corporate Internet Banking platforms, while customers of other banks can also make payments through their respective banks’ internet banking facilities via the IDFC FIRST Bank payment gateway. At branches, taxpayers can pay through cheque, demand draft or cash. Challans and payment confirmations can also be downloaded after transactions.
Mr Shirish Bhandari, Head – Retail Liabilities, Cards & Payments, IDFC FIRST Bank, said the integration gives taxpayers flexibility to select their preferred payment mode through a secure platform, as part of the bank’s focus on customer-friendly digital banking solutions.
In Guwahati, the expanded payment infrastructure is relevant for individual taxpayers, businesses, professionals and other customers seeking digital tax-payment options, while branch facilities continue to cater to customers preferring physical channels.
IDFC FIRST Bank is among the private sector banks authorised to collect Direct Tax payments for CBDT. As of June 30, 2026, its customer business stood at Rs 6,04,776crore, comprising deposits and loans, registering around 20 per cent year-on-year growth. The bank serves retail, MSME, rural, startup and corporate segments, alongside payments, cards, wealth management, government banking, trade finance and treasury services.
