The NE Tech Summit 2024, held at RCEMPA, Jotsoma, Kohima, marked a pivotal moment for Northeast India, bringing together key stakeholders to explore the region’s potential in the global tech ecosystem. Organized by the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) in collaboration with the Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation (NIDC), the summit highlighted emerging opportunities in innovation, deep-tech startups, and digital transformation.
Shri.SethrongkyuSangtam, Advisor, Department of IT & Communication, Government of Nagaland, inaugurated the event, emphasizing the region’s capacity to become a hub for technological innovation. Shri.Arvind Kumar, Director General of STPI, addressed the attendees, stressing the role of AI in driving India’s digital revolution and the need to harness resources like STPI’s facilities to support local startups.
The summit also highlighted the growing role of Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities in shaping India’s tech future. Kohima is increasingly aligned with these trends, as local entrepreneurs show interest in leveraging technology to drive growth. With the rise of digital platforms and government support, Kohima’s entrepreneurial landscape is poised for expansion, providing a fertile ground for tech-driven startups to flourish.
