On the occasion of World MSME Day, Vi Business—enterprise arm of Vodafone Idea—released its Ready for Next MSME Growth Insights Study 2025, revealing a notable rise in India’s Digital Maturity Index (DMI) from 56.6 in 2023 to 58.0 in 2025. The study highlights a growing digital commitment among India’s small businesses, with 76% planning to ramp up investments in cybersecurity and 72% in cloud technologies.
The third edition of the study, covering over two lakh MSMEs across 15,000 pin codes, identifies Telangana (DMI: 71.2) as the digital frontrunner, followed by Kerala (63.7) and Maharashtra (59.2). Sector-wise, Financial Services lead in digital maturity, followed by Transportation and Retail. However, only 12% of MSMEs have achieved full digital adoption, revealing persistent gaps in execution. MSMEs are increasingly recognizing digital transformation as vital to market competitiveness. While investment remains conservative among micro businesses, digital tools for logistics, customer engagement, and cloud-based operations are gaining momentum, especially in retail and services.
Vi Business’s “Ready for Next” platform, certified by Cyber Media Research (CMR), continues to empower small businesses, driving India’s digital economy from grassroots to global markets.
