Namrup town club dominates with three players in Junior National Football Championship

Five young Dibrugarh football players have been chosen to play for Team Assam in the Junior Boys National Football Championship for the B C Roy Trophy 2025–26, which is a noteworthy accomplishment. The esteemed competition will be held at Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh, from July 27 to August 5, 2025. The chosen athletes, who have earned this opportunity with perseverance and steady performance at the grassroots level, were formally named by the Dibrugarh District Sports Association (DDSA). Durlov Jyoti Gogoi of Namrup Town Club, Tanmoy Baruah of Namrup Town Club, Monsoon Gogoi of Namrup Town Club, Pradumna Changmai of Timoma Football Academy, and Arup Karmakar of Borbaruah Football Coaching Centre are the football players who were chosen.

These five athletes have demonstrated remarkable skill and dedication in their different clubs and academies, winning berths on the state squad and bringing great pride to Dibrugarh. With great optimism that the players will excel on the national scene and encourage many more children from the district to play football professionally, DDSA officials sent their warmest congratulations and best wishes to the athletes. As the countdown begins for the national competition, the entire Dibrugarh sporting community rallies fully behind these budding talents. Earlier in April, Assam defeated Madhya Pradesh 26–5 in their third group league game in the Senior National Rugby 7s Championship, which took place at the Indira Gandhi Athletics Stadium.
