The Chief Minister set to lay the foundation stone for new government offices in Dibrugarh today

Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma is set to lay the foundation stone for a new government complex in Dibrugarh, aiming to enhance administrative infrastructure in Upper Assam. The project, estimated at ₹65 crore, will include state-of-the-art office blocks for ministers, the Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, and other senior officials. It will also feature a modern convention centre for hosting official events. The complex is designed to strengthen governance by facilitating quicker decision-making and efficient service delivery, and to ease the administrative burden on Guwahati, which currently houses most of Assam’s government machinery. The project is part of the state government’s vision of balanced regional development and is expected to enhance operational efficiency and stimulate further infrastructural growth and urban development in and around Dibrugarh.
