The Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF), Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) and GB Union Dimapur Sadar (GBUDS) have announced a decision to initiate non-cooperation with the Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU), citing differences over resolutions adopted at a joint meeting held earlier this year. In a joint statement issued on Tuesday, DUCCF president Zasivikho Zakiesato, DCCI president Akashe Zhimomi and GBUDS president Kholie Kapfo said the decision was taken after the DNSU allegedly rejected the six-point resolution adopted during a joint general meeting held on May 14, 2026, at Hotel Saramati in Dimapur.
The three organisations said the resolutions were adopted after discussions involving various stakeholders and reflected the collective views and interests of the participating bodies. They expressed disappointment over the DNSU’s rejection of the resolutions and maintained that the decisions taken at the meeting should be respected by all concerned. Reaffirming their position, the organisations stated that the non-cooperation measure would remain in force until the DNSU demonstrates what they described as due respect for the six-point resolution and acts in accordance with the collective decisions reached during the joint meeting.
The organisations, however, did not elaborate on the specific forms the non-cooperation initiative would take. Meanwhile, the DUCCF, DCCI and GBUDS also appealed to the Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur to summon Girdharilal for questioning in connection with allegations raised by the DNSU regarding the purported fraudulent procurement of a non-Naga Indigenous Inhabitant Certificate.
