At Adarsh Senior Secondary School, Dikhreng (Kheroni Chariali), the Rastriya Divyang Ekta Sangh (RDES) Trust successfully carried out an Aadhaar Enrollment, Free Medical Camp, and Awareness Program in partnership with the District Administration of West Karbi Anglong. An important step toward inclusion, empowerment, and equality was taken when the event catered to Divyangjan (those with disabilities), widows, senior residents, and members of the third gender community. District Commissioner Saranga Pani Sarma, who also agreed to serve as RDES’s major Adviser, was the program’s major guest. The event’s goals were explained in detail by RDES Chairman Dipak Chauhan, who emphasized the group’s dedication to helping underserved communities. In addition to West Karbi Anglong District President Mohan Sing Kathar, Secretary Manoj Kumar Gour, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Chauhan (Lecturer, Thong Nokbe College, Dokmoka), Chhotelal Chauhan (Assistant Professor, Kapili College, Kheroni), and Ramji Chauhan (Vice-Principal, Adarsha Senior Secondary School), important RDES office bearers participated in the event, including Operating Trustee Mongal Sing Phangcho, trustees Mohar Ali, Kenson Roghphar, Dipankar Chauhan, Hemson Kathar, and Sunil Chauhan. More than a hundred community workers and people with disabilities were there.
DC Sarma listened carefully to the community’s problems and promised the administration would continue to support them. He showed his dedication to the establishment of RDES by touring a possible location for its official office building in Dayangmukh. He also gave guests information on a number of government programs that are intended to support the growth and well-being of the district’s disabled population. In addition to free medical examinations for all attendees, the event offered Aadhaar registration and update services. With an emphasis on health consciousness and the significance of appropriate documentation for people with disabilities in the mountainous area, awareness seminars emphasized the rights and welfare programs accessible to excluded populations. RDES’s goal to promote equality, empowerment, and inclusion for everyone—especially in the underprivileged communities of West Karbi Anglong—begins a new chapter with this program.
