Medanta expands Northeast footprint with three-day multi-specialty camp in Kohima

The Medicity, ranked India’s Best Private Hospital by Newsweek for the sixth consecutive year, successfully concluded a three-day multi-specialty medical camp in Kohima on June 27, 2025. Organized in collaboration with the Government of Nagaland and IDAN, the camp aimed to deliver advanced healthcare access to underserved communities.

Over 400 individuals benefited from the initiative, held across three key locations: IDAN Capital Convention Center, the Directorate of Industries and Commerce Office, and the Nagaland Police Headquarters. The camp was organized following Medanta’s MoU with the state government for accreditation under the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS). Key dignitaries included Speaker Sharingain Longkumer, Director P. Tokugha Sema, and DGP Rupin Sharma.

Medanta Chairman Dr. Naresh Trehan highlighted the region’s cancer burden and stressed the need for preventive care. Advisor Abu Metha lauded the partnership for bringing Medanta’s world-class healthcare model to the state. Which serves as a regional medical hub, Medanta’s outreach in Nagaland is seen as a strategic step in decentralizing patient inflow. Local healthcare stakeholders believe this could ease pressure on facilities while enhancing Northeast India’s overall healthcare infrastructure.
