The Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio, has expressed profound sorrow and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased in the tragic bus accident that occurred between 10 Mile and Peducha in Kohima district. Condoling the untimely demise of members of the Chümoukedima Ao Baptist Church, the Chief Minister announced ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased. The Chief Minister has also announced financial assistance of Rs 50,000 each to those seriously injured and conveyed his wishes for their speedy recovery. Five members of the Chumoukedima Ao Baptist Church were killed when the bus they are travelling in met with the accident on the night of January 31. The incident occurred when 32 members of the church were returning from a revival programme in Mokokchung.
