Delhi witnessed a vibrant celebration of Nagaland’s rich cultural heritage as the Autumn Festival 2025 opened on October 24 at Nagaland House. Organised by the Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland, the two-day event showcased traditional music, dance, handicrafts, and local cuisine, offering visitors an immersive glimpse into the state’s tribal traditions. The festival was inaugurated by Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra, who also unveiled the Artisans’ Corner and stalls featuring handmade crafts, Naga attire, and culinary delights prepared by tribal artisans.
The opening ceremony saw the presence of Union Minister Jitendra Singh, diplomats, and senior officials, highlighting the festival’s significance in promoting cultural exchange. Speaking at the event, Mishra emphasized the deep cultural connection between Delhi and Nagaland and proposed expanding the festival to larger venues, including Delhi University campuses and Central Park. He also announced plans for a dedicated annual Naga Culture Festival in collaboration with the Delhi Tourism Department.
Nagaland Tourism Minister Temjen Imna Along said the festival allows Delhi residents to experience the state’s heritage firsthand and serves as a prelude to the 26th Hornbill Festival, scheduled from December 1 to 10. Along also highlighted initiatives to simplify the Inner Line Permit process for tourists and the establishment of special helpline centres at Nagaland Houses in Delhi, Kolkata, and Guwahati.
