Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. (NMIPL) reported total wholesale of 9,350 units in August 2026, comprising 3,426 units in the domestic market and 5,924 units exported to international markets, as the automaker recorded a 147% year-on-year rise in domestic wholesale.
The company attributed the domestic growth to sustained demand for the Magnite and Gravite, along with a strong market response to its all-new Nissan TEKTON SUV.
Nissan also commenced exports of TEKTON to South Africa, Bhutan and Nepal, dispatching the first batch of more than 1,300 units under its “One Car. One World.” strategy. The company said the shipments mark the first phase of the SUV’s international journey, with TEKTON expected to progressively enter markets across regions.
Nissan said the export expansion demonstrates the global competitiveness of vehicles manufactured in India and reinforces the strategic importance of its Indian operations within its global network. The launches in Nepal and Bhutan are also expected to strengthen the SUV’s presence in neighbouring markets.
Nissan Motor India Managing Director Saurabh Vatsa said the encouraging TEKTON response supported August’s domestic performance, while exports highlighted the global competitiveness of India-made vehicles.
The company said TEKTON, built around Nissan’s SUV DNA, combines Japanese craftsmanship, intelligent technology, performance and practicality, and is expected to play a key role in expanding Nissan’s domestic and international footprint.
