Rujuta Diwekar, Kareena Kapoor’s nutritionist, dispels diet myths: “People eat sugary biscuits but avoid halwa and pinni”

Rujuta Diwekar, a celebrity nutritionist who has collaborated with Kareena Kapoor and other celebrities, is quite active on social media and frequently provides her Instagram followers with useful health and wellness advice. Rujuta addressed the reality of sugar and how contemporary parenting and marketing have skewed our perception of it in her piece from July 8.

The sugar we question vs the sugar we accept
Rujuta captioned the photo, saying, “The best tool parents have to ensure their kids’ good health is saying NO to them.” “We’re okay with the sugar and chemicals that come from malted powders or biscuits, simply because they come nicely packaged,” she adds in her piece.

“We have a problem with sugar that comes from homemade sweets like pinni, halwa, or kheer,” she says, pointing out the irony that people frequently question traditional sweets but not manufactured ones. Why? Because you believe it’s cooler to stop cooking once you give it up like your grandma did.
