Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma held high-level meetings with Union ministers, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy, during a visit to New Delhi. Sarma informed Modi about progress in socio-economic indicators and welfare schemes in Assam and expressed anticipation for his arrival on September 8th. He also met with Parliament’s Finance Minister and sought her support for the state’s economic development. Sarma invited Sitharaman to lay the foundation stone for the upcoming Kanaklata Barua University in Gohpur, dedicated to Birangana Kanaklata Barua, and discussed Coal India’s operations in Margherita. The meeting was attended by Rajya Sabha MP Krishnendu Paul and Minister of State Pabitra Margherita.
