Sony India has launched the RX10 V, the fifth-generation model in its RX10 all-in-one camera series, expanding its premium imaging portfolio with AI-powered subject recognition, high-speed autofocus and a 24-600mm super-zoom lens. Designed for photography enthusiasts, hobbyists and wildlife and sports photographers, the RX10 V features a 1.0-type stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor with approximately 20.1 effective megapixels and a ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* F2.4-4.0 lens with 25x optical zoom. The camera can recognise humans, animals, birds, insects, cars, trains and aircraft and supports blackout-free continuous shooting at up to 30 frames per second with full AF/AE tracking.
The device also supports 4K 120p video recording, Active Mode stabilisation, AI-powered Auto Framing, S-Cinetone and S-Log3, while its NP-FZ100 battery offers up to approximately 630 still images. Sony has also added a larger 3.68-million-dot Quad-VGA OLED viewfinder, dust- and moisture-resistant design, Wi-Fi, USB Type-C connectivity and support for its Creators’ App. In Guwahati, the RX10 V could find demand among wildlife, travel, sports and outdoor photographers, particularly because its 24-600mm range offers long-distance shooting without requiring multiple lenses. The Northeast’s wildlife and nature photography ecosystem could provide an additional niche for the premium camera.
Priced at Rs 2,45,645, the RX10 V is available from September 2 through Sony-authorised outlets, Sony Centers, Camera Lounges, major electronics stores and e-commerce platforms including Amazon and Flipkart.
