TVS Motor Company and the Indian Navy have launched the 14-day ‘Fleet to Forts’ motorcycle expedition, with a 25-member naval contingent set to cover more than 1,600 km across Maharashtra on TVS Ronin motorcycles. The expedition was flagged off from Kohli Stadium, Navynagar, Mumbai.
Led by Capt Shekhar Deshpande, the contingent includes officers, sailors and Agniveers, including women officers and women Agniveers, along with ladies from the naval community, showcasing the Indian Navy’s focus on Nari Shakti. The riders will visit 10 historic forts associated with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, including those recently inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List under the ‘Maratha Military Landscapes of India’ nomination.
The initiative also seeks to connect with young Indians and create awareness about career opportunities in the Indian Navy, with particular focus on the Agnipath Scheme, the government’s short-term recruitment programme for personnel below officer rank.
V Adm Rahul Vilas Gokhale, Chief of Staff, Western Naval Command, said the expedition reflects the Navy’s spirit of adventure, exploration and outreach, while highlighting the forts as symbols of courage, resilience and indigenous military capability.
In Guwahati, the initiative strengthens TVS Ronin’s premium lifestyle positioning and could resonate with the city’s growing community of young motorcycle enthusiasts interested in touring, adventure and long-distance riding.
Vimal Sumbly, Head, Business – Premium, TVS Motor Company, said the partnership aims to inspire a new generation through stories of valour, exploration and heritage.
