TVS Motor rolls out one millionth iQube, marks milestone in India’s EV journey

TVS Motor Company on Thursday announced the rollout of the one millionth TVS iQube electric scooter from its Hosur manufacturing facility, marking a significant milestone in India’s transition towards sustainable mobility. The company said the achievement reflects the rapid adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and reinforces its contribution to building a smart, self-reliant and environmentally sustainable mobility ecosystem in the country.

The TVS iQube, launched in 2020, has emerged as one of India’s leading electric scooter brands with a portfolio offering multiple battery capacities, range options and connected features. Built on the company’s in-house engineering, research and development, and manufacturing capabilities, the scooter is designed and manufactured in India for global markets. TVS Motor said the iQube is supported by a network of more than 3,300 sales and service touchpoints across over 3,000 cities, making electric mobility increasingly accessible to customers nationwide.

TVS Motor Company Chairman SudarshanVenu said the rollout of one million iQubes demonstrates how electric mobility is becoming part of everyday life in India. He said the milestone reflects years of investment in engineering, innovation and manufacturing, adding that the company remains committed to supporting India’s vision of Viksit Bharat by developing sustainable mobility solutions and strengthening the country’s position as a global mobility hub.

According to the company, TVS iQube riders have collectively travelled over 14.94 billion kilometres since the model’s launch, helping avoid an estimated 522,969 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. The environmental benefit is equivalent to planting nearly 20.9 million trees, highlighting the growing role of electric mobility in achieving India’s sustainability and energy-transition goals.

The milestone is expected to further strengthen confidence in the electric two-wheeler segment in Guwahati, where demand for EVs has been steadily rising amid increasing fuel costs and expanding charging infrastructure. Industry observers believe TVS Motor’s growing retail and service presence across Assam and the Northeast could accelerate the adoption of electric scooters among urban commuters, families and fleet operators, supporting the region’s shift towards cleaner and more sustainable transportation.
