Xiaomi India on Friday announced the sale of the REDMI 17C 5G, expanding its smartphone portfolio with a device combining a large display, long-lasting battery, 5G connectivity and artificial intelligence-powered features.
The smartphone features a 6.9-inch display with up to a 120Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate and TÜV Rheinland certifications for Low Blue Light, Flicker Free and Circadian Friendly viewing. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 Mobile Platform, it supports up to 12GB RAM with Memory Extension for multitasking.
The device houses a 6,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging. Xiaomi said internal testing indicated that the battery could retain at least 80% of its capacity after 1,000 full charge cycles. Additional features include a 50MP AI camera, IP64 dust and water resistance, Wet Touch Technology 2.0 and XiaomiHyperOS 3, with Google Gemini, Circle to Search and Xiaomi Interconnectivity support.
The REDMI 17C 5G is priced at ₹20,999 for the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant and ₹22,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB model. It is available through mi.com, Amazon.in and Xiaomi retail outlets.
In Guwahati, the launch strengthens consumer choice in the 5G smartphone segment, where buyers increasingly compare battery capacity, display quality, camera features and performance against price. The device’s positioning could appeal to users seeking entertainment and everyday productivity features in a single handset, amid competition among smartphone brands for value-conscious customers.
