HPCL’s Last-Mile Teams Keep Homes Powered Amid Rising Demand

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has intensified its nationwide LPG distribution, delivering over 178 lakh cylinders between April 1 and 14, as demand surged across key markets. The company’s last-mile delivery teams, often working beyond standard hours, have ensured uninterrupted supply to millions of households, reflecting the resilience of its distribution network.

The operations are being driven by coordinated efforts among distributors, logistics teams and delivery personnel, who are managing higher booking volumes through efficient routing, faster turnaround and continuous dispatch cycles. Daily operations span dense urban areas and remote rural pockets to maintain timely deliveries.

HPCL also reported supplying over 3.73 lakh 5-kg Free Trade LPG cylinders and more than 21,400 2-kg cylinders, improving access to clean cooking fuel for migrant workers and economically diverse groups. Digital adoption has strengthened efficiency, with 99.3% of bookings now online and deliveries secured through DAC/OTP authentication systems.

To safeguard supply integrity, HPCL conducted 5,072 inspections between March 14 and April 14, taking action against 115 distributors, including 30 suspensions, while carrying out 660 raids, registering 41 FIRs and seizing 3,674 cylinders.

In Guwahati, LPG demand has seen a parallel rise, supported by urban growth and increasing dependence on cleaner fuels. HPCL’s supply chain in the region remains stable, though short-term demand spikes have led to minor delivery delays in select pockets. Enhanced digital booking systems and coordinated replenishment are helping streamline operations, ensuring consistent supply across Guwahati and adjoining areas.
