A stretch of National Highway-2 in Nagaland will remain closed for vehicular traffic for three hours on Sunday for the recovery of a truck that had plunged an adjoining river. Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, B. Henok Buchem, has issued an order announcing the temporary closure of the stretch of National Highway-2 on May 3, 2026, to facilitate the recovery of the ill-fated truck. The affected section lies between Jakhama and Viswema, where a truck fell into the Kehorü River. The highway will remain closed to all forms of vehicular traffic from 3 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday. Authorities have advised commuters to use an alternative route via Viswema-Kidima-Chakhabama during the closure period to avoid inconvenience.
