The Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE), North-East Regional Centre (NERC), has officially announced the commencement of its Summer Sports Coaching Camp, scheduled to run from June 1 to June 30, 2026. The camp will be hosted at the LNIPE NERC Tepesia Sports Complex in Sonapur, offering professional coaching across a wide range of disciplines including Aerobics & Zumba, Badminton, Basketball, Football, Hockey, Handball, Judo & Self-Defence, Physical Fitness, Swimming, Track & Field, Tennis, Table Tennis, Volleyball and Yoga.
Dr Ramesh Chand Yadav, the Extramural Incharge for Sports, stated that the primary objective of this initiative is to encourage youth participation in physical activities and promote a healthy lifestyle during the summer break. The program is designed to provide expert guidance through qualified coaches who will focus on skill development, physical fitness, teamwork and sportsmanship. Training sessions are scheduled to take place daily during morning session from 6 am to 8 am and evening session from 4 pm to 6 pm. While many activities such as Football, Yoga and Basketball are open to youth for a fee of 1,000, specialized sports like Swimming and Badminton have specific fee structures ranging up to 3,000 depending on the age category.
Interested participants must submit their completed application forms by May 29, 2026. Applications can be downloaded from the official institute website at www.lnipeassam.edu.in or collected in person from the administrative office at the Tepesia Sports Complex. Applicants are required to attach a birth certificate, two passport-size photographs, and a medical fitness certificate.
